Caroline Chana Benchetrit Canadian Fine Artist
Born in North Africa, Caroline Chana Benchetrit is a self-taught painter, sculptor, and designer. Caroline left behind a business and academic career, including an MBA from Concordia and Ph.D studies at Montreal’s Ivy League McGill University in 1996, to pursue her artistic career. Her signature style is known for her diversity across mediums and her “Girls” which have been reproduced as life-size porcelain and bronze sculptures and mixed media paintings. Her original artworks are collected in North America, Europe, and Asia and have been exhibited in galleries, globally. Caroline was invited to the curated world contemporary art show, the Florence XIIIth Biennale, in 2020 and was initiated to the global committee of the Asian Art Association in 2021 as a painter/sculptor master. She is widely published and was featured as one of Canada’s top up-and-coming artists. Caroline is listed as a resource artist for top design houses like Yabu Pushelburg, and her work has been published on magazine covers including the Nation's Capital Washington D.C. Rag Magazine, which reports the news from Capitol Hill. Benchetrit was recommended for animation by a board member of the Guggenheim Museum, and she has since created four cartoon properties for television and the web, which were presented at the Cannes MIPCOM show by North American and European Producers. In addition to sculpture, painting and animation, her branded designs are featured at Surtex NYC for Consumer Product and Art Publishing licenses, and agented by Image Conscious (SanFrancisco), Singulart (Paris France), Saatchi, (London) and Artfully Walls (NYC).
